Yesterday,
Rob Shapiro took front stage among a crowd of Cushman & Wakefield
employees. Interns, staff, and brokers
alike gathered to attend the first Initial
Success training event of the second quarter. The trainings are part of a
company-wide education program where employees can improve their professional
skills and learn how colleagues have reached their goals.
Shapiro,
one of the firm’s top performing sales agents, reveals the secret to success in
the first session.
“The
single most important thing you can do for your real estate career… is
networking.”
Through
meeting new people and actively welcoming connections, Shapiro has built an
astounding clientele and drastically expanded his referral base.
How
he did it? Through sharing cups of coffee and a waffle here and there.
We’ve
put together some of his tips for anyone who wants to make it big in any career:
- Bring
business cards everywhere. Pack them in each suit, your wallet, even your gym
bag! You never know who you’ll meet.
- Cushman
& Wakefield has a lot to offer. You have a lot to offer. Know how to
communicate that quickly and clearly.
- Attend
networking events and become a leader in organizations outside of real estate.
- Be
patient and track your progress. Your efforts may not return a lot now but give
it time and you’ll thank yourself later.
Each
training session motivates the crowd to boost their personal careers and
contribute to their team’s success. Later sessions included the mechanics of
real estate and public speaking.
