In 2014, New York City is
expected to see 55.8 million visitors, an increase of 2.8% from 2013. By
the end of the year, the city is expected to have 102,000 rooms, with an
additional 14,049 rooms under construction. The number of rooms
represents a 6.7% increase from 2013, while the rooms under construction has
increased by 26.1% from last year.
Downtown has seen one of the
largest increases in hotel development, with 17 hotels and 2,571 rooms
underway.
